Inria headquarters are in Rocquencourt, near Versailles. The site is home to Inria's executive team and all the functional departments of the Institute.
Created in 1967 as part of De Gaulle's Plan Calcul (Computing Plan), the IRIA (Institut de recherche en informatique et automatique, Institute for Research in IT and Automation) was originally based in Rocquencourt, on a site that had previously been occupied by NATO.
