Nancy - Grand Est

The centre has 22 project teams, divided between Nancy, Strasbourg and Saarbrücken. Its activities occupy over 400 people, scientists and research and innovation support staff, including 45 different nationalities.

By taking risks, by pushing back the boundaries of knowledge, by being involved in cutting-edge projects at the interface of different sciences and technologies, with our academic, industrial and political partners we are helping to shape the development of digital technologies in the region and enhancing France's international reputation in the field.

Scientific priority areas:

• Algorithmic intelligence;

• Software-hardware interaction;

Strategic lines of development

• Active participation in the dynamics of the site led by the University of Lorraine, with the aim of securing the long-term future of the LUE I-Site (Lorraine Université d'Excellence);
• Development of cross-border cooperation with Germany, in particular on AI and cybersecurity;

In addition, the Centre will be supporting the development of the Inria branch on the Strasbourg site, with the following strategic objectives:

• Participation in the dynamics of the site run by the University of Strasbourg, on the basis of the framework agreement signed in 2019, with priority going to the contribution of digital technology to personalised medicine;
• Setting up of a strategic partnership with the Strasbourg IHU (university hospital institute) which will enable any Inria project team to get involved in areas of interest to the IHU;
•  Setting up of an Inria satellite office at the Strasbourg site to prioritise personalised medicine.
